WordCamp London Review (2015)

This was my first WordPress London having missed the first instalment in 2013. Expectations were high, as with everything that happens in London and #wpldn certainly delivered.

I usually put my highlights in to a blog post but I’m writing this almost a month after and therefore have forgotten the specifics of the talks. All, except for Bruce Lawson‘s talk.

There were three things that stood out about his talk:

  1. He wasn’t the usual WordPress speaker, he was from outside of the WordPress community
  2. He is (at least) a part time speaker so his ‘act’ was very polished.
  3. He was talking about images – my favourite subject.

Bruce’s talk was about responsive images¬†and the new standards available to web developers. It reminded me how out of date my talk on optimising images for WordPress is from 2 years ago and the pace that the web development moves at.

So Bruce has given my inspiration to update my talk and present it at a WordPress meetup in the future. I’d love for my talk to be half as polished as Bruce’s.
